Stacy is a first responder. As a female she deals with the chief that isn't crazy for her as she is a female. She has a son that is in college. Part of the book is writing a "lesson" to him about life. The other part is about an accident she is called out on where an ex's daughter was killed and she is called to testify. The story looks back on the events and is the accident as it seems? Did the daughter actually cause the accident and kill two other people or is there more to the story. It gets even trickier as her ex is a judge in town. This book kept me interested and had some mystery to it. I would put it on your to read list if it isn't already there.Product details

The book gripped me from beginning to end and didn't want to put it down. I loved the inclusion of the letters to her son. Such a wonderful way to explain how a boy becomes a man.
Can't wait for the next book by the awesome author!
Great story, very interesting and fun characters. Story makes you, realize you can't live in the past. And that there is a higher power
I'll be honest - I did not finish this book. I started it and couldn't get in the groove of it. I've read two other books since I started this one and after each I came back and gave it another chance, but it just isn't working for me. I'm sure there is a good story between the pages somewhere, but I don't have the time to go searching for it.
I don't like to write negative reviews but since I was given this book in exchange for an honest opinion, I'll do just that. The writing content and style seemed a bit immature or inexperienced to me, like a person's attempt to write a story without having read much descriptive writing that is needed to lend vision and characterization to a place or person.
Don't let my lack of enthusiasm keep you from reading this story, however. Everyone is free to come to their own conclusion, but unfortunately, I couldn't get past Stage One in this book.

This is a wonderful book. Not only is it entertaining it is a mystery and a love story and so much more. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I wish I could write a book filled with wisdom for my son in the way she did. Smiles and tears through the stages of life. I won a copy on Goodreads. All thoughts are my own.
